Labels: thanks to . The plates, known as divergent plates , move away from each other thus causing an eruption. This is the magnitude of Ol Doinyo Lengai . Latitude/Longtitude : 8.76S , 29.91E There was a major eruption of Ol Doinyo Lengai in June 1917 . It was reported that there was volcanic ash which plunged violently as far as about 48 kilometres away . The lava erupted in low temperatures thus resulting the molten material to appear black in the sunlight , this became an unusual volcanic landscape .
I think that though it is a natural disaster that we can't avoid , however , we can indirectly help by having drills to prepare the people living around the area such that when the volcanologists are able to predict when the volcano is about to erupt approximately by refering to the shape and the smell of the volcano , they will know what to be done.
